VICTORVILLE • Red Bull has opened a distribution warehouse at Southern California Logistics Airport, officials announced Monday, bringing 16 new jobs to the community.

The energy drink company took over a 12,500-square-foot industrial facility at 13644 George Boulevard on May 2, according to Jessica Neuman, spokeswoman with Idea Hall.

“The facility provides Red Bull with optimal flexibility to meet its regional warehousing and distribution needs,” Brian Parno, chief operating officer of Stirling Development, said in a statement. Stirling is Victorville’s private partner in developing SCLA.

The Victorville site is the company’s 23rd distribution facility in the United States, according to information on the company’s website, as Red Bull looks to expand its Southern California market.

Cushman & Wakefield represented Red Bull in the transaction, a press release on the deal states, while Stirling was represented in-house. The lease is valued at more than $350,000.

Only a district sales manager position is listed as available now on Red Bull’s website.

The Red Bull space lies adjacent to a 10,376-square-foot industrial facility that was leased by Sparkletts Water early in 2011.

M&M/Mars also plans to relocate its operations to SCLA by the end of the year, from Victorville’s Foxborough Industrial Park under a 10-year lease for a nearly 500,000-square-foot space at 13133 Innovation Way.

Church & Dwight Co. then plans to move into the current M&M/Mars site and hire on an estimated 100 new workers, as the company begins producing and distributing cat litter and laundry detergent.
